Deborah L. Ruf, Ph.D.
High Intelligence Specialist
I founded Educational Options to provide accurate information regarding intelligence, what it is, where it comes from, and how our family, school, relationship and workplace environments either nurture or stifle its expression. When someone is highly intelligent – different from the majority in thoughts, expression, and interest – the wrong environment can lead to confusion, sadness, loneliness, anger and underachievement. My continuing purpose is to open the eyes and awareness of adults in ways that will benefit them and the children under their care.

Although I am no longer accepting new clients, I continue to work with past clients as they need my professional help. I remain available for teacher workshops, speaking engagements, and keynote addresses. The majority of my professional time is now related to book, blog, and article writing, qualitative research related to gifted children and adults, and the development of online helpful and affordable products on TalentIgniter.com. My hope is to reach more people than an individual consultancy can reach, groups that include other educational professionals, mental health professionals, and policy makers for both fields.

To follow and contribute to my work (your own ideas, input and questions, volunteering for product beta testing, adult giftedness book, and even perhaps to contribute funding for the materials and support I will need for this work and these studies), go to TalentIgniter.com and sign up for the RSS feed and follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Finally, I may be reached at dr.ruf@talentigniter.com unless I direct you elsewhere later within a specific study. And be patient, as I have no administrative assistant at this time to help with correspondence.
